Juma Al Harthy (born 1970) is an Omani artist specializing in drawing and painting. His work combines realism and abstraction, drawing inspiration from Oman's landscapes, traditional architecture, cultural heritage, and the expressive possibilities of Arabic letters and letter simulations. He works primarily with oil, acrylic, and mixed media.
He earned a Diploma in Commerce in 1990 and has been an active member of Oman's artistic community for many years. He joined the Oman Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) in 1994, became a member of the Youth Studio in 2000, and joined the Cultural Club in 2003.
Throughout his career, Al Harthy has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Oman. His notable local exhibitions include Rozna at Bank Beirut (2013), Oriental Touches at Bait Al Baranda (2011), exhibitions at Bait Muzna Gallery and the Fine Arts Festival (2010), annual exhibitions of Arabic Calligraphy and Letter Simulations, and many OSFA annual exhibitions between 1995 and 2009. He has also exhibited regularly at the Salalah Tourism Festival and participated in group exhibitions at Al Harthy Complex and Bait Al Baranda.
Internationally, Al Harthy has represented Oman in prestigious exhibitions and biennales around the world. His work has been exhibited in Italy, the United Kingdom, China, Kuwait, Syria, the United States, Bangladesh, Sudan, Morocco, Egypt, and Lebanon. Among his most significant international participations are the Asian Biennale in Bangladesh, the Arab World Arts Exhibition in China, the Omani Contemporary Art Exhibition in Shanghai, the Arabesque Exhibition in the United States, and the Youth Saloon in Egypt.
His artistic achievements have been recognized with numerous awards. These include the First Prize at the 17th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition (2009), the Silver Prize at the 16th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition (2008), the Bronze Prize at the 11th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition (2003), and several Appreciation Awards for fine arts and Arabic calligraphy exhibitions. In 2006, he also received the prize for designing the logo of the Public Authority for Craft Industries.
Al Harthy has officially represented the Sultanate of Oman at major international cultural events, including exhibitions in Italy, the Asian Biennale in Dhaka, the Arab World Arts Festival in China, the 14th Youth Saloon in Egypt, and an artistic workshop in Lebanon. His work reflects a contemporary interpretation of Omani identity while preserving strong connections to the country's cultural heritage.
